A documentary about the French tightrope-walker Philippe Petit, who walks between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974 shortly after their completion. A film so beautiful I was moved to tears. There is a particularly breathtaking sequence about an hour and a quarter into the film accompanied by Erik Satie's Gymnopedic No. 1.I just realized I watched this film in French without subtitles (I saw it a few weeks ago on Sunday 3 May). My French was good enough to cope, but this does illustrate how skilful the visual storytelling is.
Nugget: Makes no mention of 9/11. A silent tribute?
